Necessary Family Camping Equipments
Camping is a leisure where families could enjoy one another company in a cheap but fun way. Whether it is a group of friends, co-workers, and families, camping is an activity where they can appreciate nature while learning about cooperation, basic survival, and most importantly, bonding with one another. getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city is a strong factor to motivate grown-ups who wish to forget about the stresses of work or kids wanting to have some recreational fun and away from school studies.
Prior to embarking on a camping trip with your kids, make sure that you choose a suitable spot to settle on and the things you need to bring along. Campgrounds differ in a lot of ways. Some offer seclusion and some allow strangers to come together. There are places where camping families are completely safe while some places have hazards like wild animals. Furthermore, you should also take into account your kids preferences when it comes to outdoor activities.
Family camping will require more camping equipment than that of one or two person camping and the type and size of tents that will be used is also an important factor. A family with more than four members would either need two medium sized tents or a large one that are spacious enough to shelter each one of them and their camping equipments.
Up to six to eight family member could be housed in a family camping tent but the convenience is reduced when that much people get cramped together in one tent. The desirability of tents with dividing walls are evident to families as they allow each member to have privacy. Parents would have a feeling of security for their kids by being together in one tent while enjoying their privacy and these kinds of tents often have zippers for each divider.
Aside from tents, other camping equipments are necessary to add to a memorable camping experience. Listing essential camping nooks and crannies is the best way not to forget. To be more organized, grouping them in categories like gears, cash, foods, medical, utensils, entertainment, etc. will have a lesser chance of being forgotten. Among these categories, however, food, cash, gears and medicine are the most important.
Food and cash are pretty straigforward but gears and first-aid kits need to be thought of carefully. Gears include tents, sleeping bags, hiking shoes, etc. Medicines include iodine, flu medicines, ointments, alcohol, and bandages, gauzes and cotton.
Kids foods should also be given some thought as these will be essential to their nutrition in the outdoors. Some foods that are common at home may not be adequate in camp. Cereals are one example where they usually need milk to be more tastier and nutritious. If the planned camping will last for several days, it would not be a good idea to bring foods that are bound to spoil without refrigeration. Milk and other dairy products fall under these and unless your kids do not mind eating cereals out of the box, it is best to leave cereals and dairies at home. Suitable outdoor camping foods include canned goods, marshmallows, burgers and hotdogs.
Planning camping trips do not include rain as a fun activity. A gloomy and wet weather in a camping trip will let everybodys spirit down, especially kids. Therefore, it is important to have some backup in case mother nature drops one you. These backups come in the form of personal entertainment such as books, toys, audio players, board games and video games.
